Kyla Reed is a 22 year old, Colorado born guitarist. Originally a classic rock player, she now dives deep into the complex, textured world of math rock. Driven by intense emotion and a passion for originality, Kyla crafts soundscapes that don’t just play, they make listeners feel. With heavy influences from “Covet” and “Mercury” Kyla has taken their knowledge and techniques to form her own unique sound. Covet’s odd tunings and suspenseful melodies has been Kyla's biggest influence thus far. Mercurys tender and impactful lyrics have inspired her to be more expressive with what lyrics she outputs. Aside from her band and aspirations, Kyla’s career began during middle school. She headlined popular venues such as Red Rocks and Fox theater, as well as supporting acts for artists like TI and more. During her time at Berklee College of Music, she gained endorsements for Ernie Ball inc, and Dunlop. Her passion for creativity isn’t just for performing arts, her drive extends to visual art as well. As the daughter of a painter, she grew up surrounded by creative expression. In her artistic career, Kyla has won scholarships and competition awards for her work. As well as created album covers for local bands and her own.
